Msvcp140.dll missing

I just installed the WordPress app but it will not start because it says the MSVCP140.dll is missing.

Where can I get its replacement?

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files. Try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

**Step 1:**I suggest you to download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 and check if it resolves the issue.

**Step 2:**Also, I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

Follow the below steps:

1. Right click on the Start button, click on Command Prompt (Admin).
2. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit Enter.
3. After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Hi

I did everything. Did the command sfc /scannow, with result that there was nothing wrong. I have a diagnostic tool from intel itself to check that everyhting works and it says that its still missing.

What do i have to do?

Your fix to get back the missing MSVCP140.dll file for my Windows 10 computer didn't work.  When I clicked on your step 1 recommended fix of installing "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" the file came up as the same name but for Studio 2010 not 2015.  When I did the step 2 fix with the sfc/.... fix from the system prompt, it showed I had no errors.  Not sure what to do next.
