I just installed the WordPress app but it will not start because it says the MSVCP140.dll is missing.

Where can I get its replacement?

    Hi James,

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files. Try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

**Step 1:**I suggest you to download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 and check if it resolves the issue.

**Step 2:**Also, I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

    Follow the below steps:

    1. Right click on the Start button, click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit Enter.
    3. After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Hope it helps. Reply to the post with an updated status of MSVCP140.dll missing error for further assistance.

    Thank you.

    Hi

I did everything. Did the command sfc /scannow, with result that there was nothing wrong. I have a diagnostic tool from intel itself to check that everyhting works and it says that its still missing.

What do i have to do?

    Greetings

    Hi,

To address you concern with the error that you’re getting, we would like to know which build and version are you using for your Windows 10?

In the meantime, we suggest that you create a new user profile named as Test, to check if you’re experiencing the same issue on a new profile. This is also for us to isolate if the issue is with your current user profile if it’s corrupted or not.

We are looking forward to your response.
