I just installed the WordPress app but it will not start because it says the MSVCP140.dll is missing.

Where can I get its replacement?

    Hi James,

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files. Try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

**Step 1:**I suggest you to download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 and check if it resolves the issue.

**Step 2:**Also, I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

    Follow the below steps:

    1. Right click on the Start button, click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit Enter.
    3. After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Hope it helps. Reply to the post with an updated status of MSVCP140.dll missing error for further assistance.

    Thank you.

I tried the SFCSCAN "fix," but it did not appear to do anything.

I'm running Windows 10, 64 bit, latest upgrade, which my system shows happened on 04/22/17....Saturday.  I guess that does seem a bit odd to me because I thought MS upgrades typically were on Tuesdays, unless it was an emergency fix.

So would this be good with Windows 7, 64 bit, do you think?
