not able to the create the column in list. coming up with below error while creating.
respective columns deleted before creating.
please help

Whether you create a list column or a site column? What type of column are you creating?
Try to create other types of columns in the list, will you get an error?
Try to create columns in another list, will an error be reported?

Whereas I could create other types of columns
Below is the migrated site in 2016 lab. It is migrated from 2010 production. We have used DB upgrade method. We followed 2010 to 2013 and then 16.

Virto Cross-Site Lookup Selection column is provided by third party product. Q&A forum only supports Microsoft products.
You could go to virtosoftware for further help.
Please follow below steps to troubleshoot the OOTB lookup column issue.
1.Go to site collection features and deactivate the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature.
2.Navigate to the URL http://site url/Relationships%20List/allitems.aspx and delete the list from the list settings.
3.Go to site collection features and activate the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature.
4.The Relationships list will be created automatically. Then try to create lookup column in the list.

Whether this error be reported when the lookup column is created in only one list or all lists?
Noticed that when I tried to create out of box look up type column from other lists also giving same error.

Do you mean that you have deleted the relationships list and re-activated the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature, but you still cannot create lookup columns?

You could check ULS logs to find more clues.

And When I tried to create a list template for that list it coming up with below message

It may be caused by corrupted lookup column.
I suggest you open a ticket with Microsoft.
