I had this issue and for now I've found a workaround. I forced it to use the Microsoft generic Bluetooth driver instead of the Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver. It's been working great for me. Here are the steps:
- Open device manager. (Win+X, and then choose device manager)
- Find the Bluetooth device, right click and choose Update Driver
- Then choose "browse my computer for driver software"
- Then choose "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
- Then choose "Generic Bluetooth Driver"
- And then finish the dialog, and done!
The Generic driver has been working ok for me. I can use my Bluetooth headphones again. But I've had some issues with the generic driver:
- When I shutdown the computer while a Bluetooth device is connected it is not disconnected. Usually this means that I have to wait a short while for my Bluetooth headphones to realize that the computer won't be responding anymore.
- When going into sleep mode while a Bluetooth device is connected I had to shutdown and unpower my computer to get Bluetooth to work again after wake up. So I've disabled automatic "go to sleep" for now and make sure to disconnect my headphones before. I've got a stationary computer that is always plugged in to power. It's possible that the power management is different for say a laptop.
So I'm waiting for a fix to this so that I can switch back to using the Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver.
