dear all,

we've noticed that after upgrading to SCCM 2006 (from1906) on newly installed Secondary Sites the reg key for BGBServer_Firewall_Block_Monitor is missing: D07ACE61-FB84-4461-9F52-ABBA07C2EE3A under HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Operations Management\Components\SMS_NOTIFICATION_SERVER\

We couldn't find any info in the release notes for any versions in between. Can someone confirm that this 'port blocked on FW' rule is not monitored any more by the component - or it should be still there?

Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft MECM Q&A forum.

This monitor indicate whether Windows Firewall on Management Point Namedoes not allow clients to connect to the Notification Server.

The recommended channel for a client to establish a connection to the Client Notification Server is using a TCP port. However, if Windows Firewall (or other firewall software) is enabled on a Client Notification Server it may be configured to disallow such communication.

Please review Windows Firewall configuration for the TCP port used by client notification to see if Windows Firewall blocks client connections to the TCP port.

    Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,
    Simon
