Bluetooth access point option changes to direct conection after system reboot.

Hi,

Every time I pair my Bluetooth device(my Phone Android 6.0 Xiaomi Redmi 3s prime) to connect to it for bluetooth tethering I get an option to connect to internet using "access point". This options stays available only till the next reboot. After a reboot the "access point" option is gone and there is "Direct conection" available instead. I have to go through the process of un-pair and pair every time to get "access point" back. Is there a solution for this problem.

Thanks.

If this has been the case ever since, this got me thinking that this is by design. It even works the same with your other phone. It might be an Android feature. I suggest that you re-post this question to Android forums to see if there's any workarounds.

    Hi John,

Yes, it has always been like this. About four years now. I have moved from windows from windows 8 to 8.1 all the way to Windows 10 fall creators update, but the issue has always persisted. Coming to changes, I have updated windows(from 8 to 8.1 to 10) and used the drivers provided by Microsoft by default but they threw the same problem. I installed the drivers provided by my manufacturer (and tried several reinstalls) still no help. I have also switched phones. Tried with a Samsung phone but it was the same. I do have an option to tether over wifi which works without any problems but I prefer Bluetooth because it consumes much less power.

If you need any logs for diagnostics I can fetch those or if you want!

    Thanks

    Hi Wreck,

Clarify this for me. Has it always been like this before? When did the issue start happening? What changes have been made to your device since then? Do you have an option to tether via Wi-Fi? Do you get the same issue? Do you have other device you can try to isolate if the issue is with your phone?

We look forward to your response.
