Lenovo Yoga 520 - touch screen wont work after loading windows 10

I have just purchased yesterday the Lenovo Yoga 520.   Touch screen worked fine until I uploaded the Windows 10.   It doesnt work anymore.  I contacted Lenovo, who tried to assist but also couldn't get it to work.   It is a Windows 10 issue.   The Wacom Device is showing a (Code10) Status_device_data_error.

Have tried to update, upgrade, deleted re install etc.,  then deleted the computer back to factory settings, re loaded and still not working.  On searching for updated drivers, it tells me the computer has the best driver for this device.   If that is so, how come it doesn't work.   This is going to be a student computer and to be truthful, I would never have put on Windows 10 other than it is a requirement.   Sorry so many issues.   I have read all the other messages about this and I'm not sure who to blame, Microsoft for not having an answer or Lenovo for not being up to speed with all the changes that Windows 10 downloads.

Thank you very much, solved my problem with the touch screen, I think it's the Wacom device driver, the only thing I did is uninstall it in Device Manager, without ticking the "Remove the driver software from this device" box and clicking again "Search hardware changes ", and the screen worked again

    Hi,

An outdated or corrupted touchscreen driver is the most common cause of this issue. Usually, restarting your device helps in resolving this problem by refreshing all its processes and services. If it doesn't work, we recommend running the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the instructions below. This built-in troubleshooter will try to diagnose and resolve the issues that it finds:

    1. In the search field on your taskbar, type Control Panel, and then press Enter.
    2. On the View by options located at the top-right corner of the Window, select Large icons.
    3. Go to Troubleshooting.
    4. On the left panel, select View all.
    5. Click Hardware and Devices.
    6. Click Next to run the troubleshooter.
    7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue persists, you may try uninstalling and reinstalling your touchscreen driver by following the instructions below.

    To roll back the driver:

    1. Open D evice Manager.
    2. Under Human Interface Devices, right-click the driver you want to roll back and select Properties.
    3. Go to the Drivers tab.
    4. Click Roll Back Driver.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

To uninstall and reinstall the driver:

    1. Open D evice Manager.
    2. Under Human Interface Devices, right-click the driver you want to uninstall, then select Uninstall.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstall process.
    4. Once uninstalled, restart your computer, and Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

Keep us posted and we'll be willing to assist you further.

Hi Animal stamps,  the issue is Lenovo, and I would return it immediately using the wording

"Not fit for purpose".    You should get a full refund because this problem cannot be solved by any upgrading or resetting  of the current downloads etc.    Lenovo need to make the changes and then create a download to fix the problem, but considering they told me last night the following *:*Hi We're sorry to hear about what happened. This is an isolated case. We have products that never had this issue, nor received any complaints about it. Our products are thoroughly tested and gone through quality control. This is not the experience we want you to have and if in any case that the shop where you bought the unit will not give you a refund or a replacement, please let us know right away so we can set up a repair service according to the warranty entitlement your unit has. Keep us posted on how it goes. and then when I called them on it, by posting screen shots of all the complaints on their own forum I got this reply : Thank you for sending those pictures. Since it has been reported by users, we're currently looking into this issue. If that will be your decision we understand, you might also want to check the refund or replacement policy of the shop. We honor their policy since they're the point of purchase. Keep us posted on how it goes tomorrow. Have a good one!

I returned mine this morning for a full cash refund and bought a Dell, works perfectly.

    Dear Ramon,

I have the exact same problem with the code 10 error on a Lenovo yoga 520 bought yesterday, except the system had windows 10 preloaded and the touchscreen has never worked. The machine's main selling point of being usable as a laptop and a touchscreen is utterly pointless when the touchscreen is non-functional like this.  I've used both the troubleshooter, rolling back the driver, uninstalling the driver, and also manually installing one by one each version of the driver available on the Wacom website. It's worth noting that windows 10 does not even recognise the machine has a touchscreen; under the pen and touch system info it says ' no pen and touch input is available for this display'.

Do you have any further advice you can offer on trying to solve this issue please, or shall I likewise return the machine to the seller?

thanks Ramon, I had one of your excellent technicians do all that for me by remote last night and it was still no good, so today I took the Lenovo back to the reseller for a full refund.   It is a Lenovo problem I have now discovered and although they will deny it, initially, they now say they are looking in to it.    Thank you for your response, it is appreciated.    I bought a Dell instead.  :)
