I was coding quite a bit the other day, and go loads done. I ended up copying it, and planned on pasting it, but completely forgot. Now I've got other things copied. I'd like to know if there's a way to view my old clipboard history? Are there any apps that can see everything I've already copied BEFORE downloading it? Or is there a way to do it with Windows? Please help!

As Allan Mej mentioned Clipboard content is overwritten.

However, last year I think, MS released a new feature in Win 10 where multiple items can be saved in Clipboard history but one needs to turn it on first.

Go to Settings -> System -> (Scroll down to) Clipboard -> then turn "Clipboard history" on.

To view "Clipboard history" contents, press the Windows key + V.

Hi Garry,

Upon copying something, the previous clipboard content is always overwritten. This means that there is always no history saved on the clipboard. You can use third-party applications which record your clipboard history, but you cannot recover your clipboard history prior to the installation of that app.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

Regards.

Yes, multiple items are saved, but they are saved in ram and lost on reboot. The next frontier is to convince the engineering Gods, that just because you go to lunch doesn't mean you don't still benefit by the same work you did in the morning. We will hold the hands of the engineers for a few more years, and maybe they will finally get that this easy to program feature should remain in temporary non ram memory for a programmable period of time, and not be erased on reboot.  Databyter

This is a very old subject. The Clipboard Snapshots were finally moved into the Windows 10. Just press Win+V to enable Clipboard and all of the saved content. This content does not record until you start the clipboard and will reset at restart. Like always. ![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/5b56f73b-38ff-48ae-aabb-563f17ef3fca?platform=QnA
