I can no longer log into azure portal, as authenticator never does anything

As of several days ago, I can no longer log into the Azure portal with my work account. It says it has sent a message to the Authenticator app. I assume that refers to the MS Authenticator app running on the phone associated with my email address. I have had the app open on my phone, but nothing ever happens.

Note that about the same time that this started happening, I also installed the Authenticator app on my personal phone, associated with my personal email. I have another microsoft login associated with my personal email, and I've been using that to step through Azure training pages. I recently had a problem with this, as it suddenly decided it no longer had a subscription, so I couldn't create any more resources. It's possible that something I did to try to resolve that has messed up my work account.

I have tried reaching out to many different resources and people to try to get these issues resolved, including several people who officially support Azure and Microsoft. The common response is basically "no idea how to help you".

Also note that I can still use my microsoft login to log into the Bing Maps site, to review the usage of our Bing Maps license. That login doesn't go through the Authenticator.
