How do I turn off the CAPS lock on screen notification in Windows 10?

Whenever I capitalize a letter, I click caps lock. It's just how I type...it's much easier for me than holding down shift. However, this makes typing very annoying, now that I have a Windows Ten computer, because half the time, the stupid CAPS lock notification is on my screen, blocking whatever I'm writing. Is there a way to turn off the on screen notification that CAPS lock is being turned on and off? I've looked everywhere for a solution.

If it helps, I have a Lenovo computer.

    Hi Lara,

Thank you for sending the screenshot of the Caps lock indicator. We would like to know what is the brand of your computer, since different computer manufacturer may have different ways to disable Caps lock indicator. For now, kindly follow these steps on how to disable the indicator.

    1. Press the Windows key on the keyboard and select Settings.
    2. Click System.
    3. Choose Display and click Advanced display settings.
    4. Scroll down and select Display adapter properties.
    5. Click on Screen configurations tab. In Properties window, make sure Enable on-screen display is checked. Under "Indicator settings for NumLock and CapsLock" section, look for "While the numeric lock or caps lock is ON" section, choose the "Show the indicator for a few seconds" option.

Please keep us updated with this concern.

    Hi Lara,

Caps Lock indicator can be configured trough Ease of Access. To clarify your concern, we would like to know the following:

    • Are you using the On-Screen Keyboard?
    • Can you provide a screenshot of the Caps Lock indicator that you are having issues with?
    • Have you made any recent system changes prior to this issue?
    • Have you recently installed a 3rd party application?

In the meantime, we suggest that you switch off the Toggle Keys option through Ease of Access:

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Open Settings.
    3. Click on Ease of Access.
    4. Select Keyboard tab.
    5. On the right pane, switch off the Toggle Keys.

We look forward for your response.

    Hi,

No, I'm not using the on screen keyboard, just the normal one. This is what it looks like when I press CAPS lock:

This tends to get in the way when I'm typing in a document, etc, because of how often I turn it on and off. I tried to follow the directions you gave me, and I had no option under "Keyboard" to toggle keys on and off.

The brand of the computer is a Lenovo. If I try to follow these instructions as you posted, I can't do anything past step 2. When I click on Display under system, there is no option for "advanced display settings". If I click on "display adapter properties", which IS linked on the display page, I have no screen configurations tab.

Thank you for checking the Display adapter settings, which is where you can change the Caps lock notification. We suggest that you reach Lenovo Support since the keyboard is working as intended and to check for they have any updates on how to remove the Caps lock icon.

    Regards,
