Quick question - when I expand Display adaptor I have 2 devices - Intel HD graphics or Nvidia geforce gtx. Which one should I use?

As title suggests the function keys for my laptop have stopped adjusting the brightness for my laptop. I can adjust by going into the settings fine but can't use the keys. I have updated all my display drivers but still no joy.
