I am unable to install The Windows 10 Feature update to OS version 1803(from version 1709) on my PC.

It is giving 0xc1900101 error. I have all the latest drivers on my PC. The current OS build of my PC is 16299.371.

After each failure, the update gets downloaded again and it has failed 5 times.

I would be grateful if someone could please help.

As mentioned above, the file at this link should work:

Finally got mine updated today after about 20 failures at 86% with Error Code: 0xC1900101-0x4001E.

I wrote a blog about it as it's a bit complicated. I hope that helps some of you.

I had to give 4 different HP techs to try to fix this with remote command to my PB, the third tech sent me to a second level tech who foled with things and said that the update was NOT compatible with my desktop, which came with Windows 10 installed. So apparently that update is not compatible with all computers. But I would bet as long as more computers will work with that update we are left holding the bag. I made the second level tech tell my computer to ignore that update, it no longer even sees it.

Horrible to make an update that doesn't work on all computers carrying the correct OS. What do they think wwe're goinng to do, gpo out and but the Newest HP?

    Hi,

    If someone needs troubleshooting help,

Attempt using the ISO file/Media creation tool first. If it fails,

Share Setuperr.log and Setupact.log named from

    C:$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback\

    and

    C:$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther

You can open the folder by typing the path in Run or showing hidden files and viewing through explorer.

Use Onedrive/Google Drive/Mediafire to share the files and drop the links in the next reply.

I found a solution that worked for me.

First go to Microsoft Windows 10 Media Creation Tool and create the Windows 10 1803 version on a default formatted empty USB drive.

Then open the USB Drive with File Explorer and run Setup.exe. Select the option to install new version of windows. Then you can select to keep your applications and files or not.
