remoting to a server using explorer

Question

I am at home and w/o vpn, I can RDP to a server, as long as I have the gateway server name listed in the advanced tab, gateway settings. however, I don't want to have to remote to the server all the time using RDP when I can just \ to it. is there a way to do so. for ex......fqdn is myserver.domain.company.us and the gateway is gw.company.us

when we were in house on the domain directly, obvisously we could \ to the server directly using file explorer. now we want to do the same thing. any way, other than using some ftp software?

1. install the Onedrive on both the client computer and the remote desktop.

2. copy the files to the local onedrive
3. you can access to the files from the remote desktop with Onedrive

changing firewall settings are not an option. i kinda thought this was going to be unresolved. uggg.
