Dear all,

after installing the latest updates from February 2021 for a SharePoint 2016 farm, we have the following issues under My Sites for all users:

The list of "Sites I'm following" still exists, but if you click on a link, you get the following error:

"We hit a snag. The link doesn't work anymore, likely because the item was moved or deleted. You might have luck searching for it and following in it's new location."

But the site is still at the same place and works.

Any ideas?

    Solution:

    1. Re-run psconfig on WFE and APP

.\PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures -cmd secureresources

    1. Run Full Crawl

    Hi @Matthias68 ,

I have also installed February 2021 update(KB 4493195) in my SharePoint Server 2016 environment, but I couldn't reproduce this issue.

Generally, there are two causes for this issue.

    • This can be caused by not having enough memory on the servers. You should check the memory usage on your WFE servers and APP servers.
    • The error can be caused by the application pool service account that your My Sites are running under have no enough permissions on the content database that contains the site whose link you clicked on. Please take a reference to this article: SharePoint “We hit a snag”.

If the above two do not work for you, please try to trace more related messages about this error in ULS logs.
