Before we put our Exchange server behind our F5 Load Balancer, we used to see the original ClientIP in the message tracking logs. But now since the Load Balancer is using NAT we no longer see the client IP. Regarding HTTP / Web we have a solution by using the XFF header within IIS/F5, but the question is can we do something for the SMTP protocol, so that we can also tracking applications that connect via SMTP to send mail?

2021-03-07T11:56:50.787+00:00 That article explains it. Note, I dont use this method. I have always put the Exch Servers on the same IP subnet that the F5 is on and getting the client IP is not an issue.
I think you may want to talk to F5 support about ways to get the client IP. -

Yes, like you said and the article I gave above, these may be some IIS module could do this job but I'm sorry I don't know much about it.
