Labels in a Scatter Chart

Can anyone tell me if this is possible in Excel.

I have a scatter chart with data points in the chart. The data points have lables. In addtion to these labels, I would like to place my cursor on a particular data point and it would show the contents of a particular cell. This would be addtional information about the data point but only shown when I place my cursor over it. This is is in contrast to lables which are always displayed in the chart on the data points.

Can this be done some way? I have ye to find out if this is possible.

Thank you

I can only think of a very clunky way to do this, I wouldn't recommend it.

You have to click on the chart once to see the effect; the code doesn't work if the chart has not been selected.

I didn't bother to generalize it, so it's pretty specific for the layout of the worksheet.

If others see ways to improve this, please do so.

Very simply, I would like to place my cursor on a particular dot in the chart and the corresponding bond name would appear. When I remove the cursor from the dot, the name would disappear. I do not want to label the data points with the bond name (which I could) because the chart would become to cluttered with many data points.

That is it. Can it be done or can I know the name corresponding to the dot (some way) by just placing my cursor on the dot.

    Thank you

If it is possible at all, it would be complicated, but it might help if you described in detail what you want to do, instead of the rather vague "display information from a particular cell".

I am familiar with that x and y data but I am looking for it to display information from a particular cell. Other than posting here, is there another way to find out if this is possible?

    Thanks

I don't think that's possible. Excel already shows information about a data point when you hold the mouse pointer over it.
