Turn Off Bluetooth Discovery?

Hi,

I turned off the bluetooth discoverable option in the bluetooth settings, but I can still discover it (tested with my phone). Is there a way to actually disable discovery so other people can't see my laptop?

Here are screenshots of my settings:

I know bluetooth is generally safe, but I would like to have the extra piece of mind knowing that people can't see my bluetooth.

    Hi Crappysauce

My name is Jon and I am an independent technical adviser. Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues and I would really like to help you find a resolution.

    Press Windows key + R

    Type services.msc

Browse the list and find the Bluetooth Support Service

Double click the entry, stop the service and set the type to disabled

    Click OK

You may want to do the same for the Bluetooth User Support Service as well.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Jon, thanks for the reply. Will this disable bluetooth too? I need bluetooth for my wireless mouse.

It shouldn't do. I have performed the above and can still connect to my Airpods.

    Hi Jon,

I just tried it and sadly my mouse loses connection too and doesn't connect until I enable the service again.

Any other things I can try?
