Hi,

my whatsapp folders on my phone aren't recommended to me in the gallery sync settings in the Onedrive app. My Whatsapp is conneected to Google drive but I was wondering if there's a way to connect it to Onedrive since I pay for the 100 GB storage.

    hi Marija V

    My name is Segunfunmi

Have you tried uninstalling your OneDrive and reinstalling your OneDrive?

You should be able to synchronize when you do the following:

    1. Install and configure the OneDrive app on your phone.
    2. Open the app and click on the Me tab.
    3. Go to Settings -> Camera upload.
    4. If you enable Camera upload (or you already have it enabled) every picture taken with the phone will get synced with your OneDrive account.
    5. Once you confirm your Microsoft account, some more options will be available. We are interested in the Additional folders option. Tap on it.
    6. From there you will be able to choose the WhatsApp images folder or the WhatsApp video folder.

Now, by default, whenever you are connected via WiFi, your WhatsApp files will be synced to OneDrive automatically.

    Hope this works!!.

    kind regards, segunfunmi

Unfortunately, this doesn't work since it doesn't find the Whatsapp folders in my gallery.

Also I don't have the Camera upload setting in my Onedrive app and it's updated.

    Hi Marija V

I'm sorry that the solutions I provided didn't work for you. Here are a few additional suggestions:

Make sure that you have permitted WhatsApp to access your phone's storage. To do this, go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Permissions, and ensure the Storage permission is enabled.

If you still don't see the Camera upload setting in your OneDrive app, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if that resolves the issue. Alternatively, you can try accessing the Camera upload setting through the OneDrive website on your computer.

I hope one of these solutions works for you. If you continue to have issues, feel free to reach out for further assistance.

    thanks segunfunmi

    Hello,

I'm having the same issue. I have a Samsung S23.

You cannot uninstall the OneDrive app, I could update ot thought. There is no Camera Upload function and WhatsApp folders cannot be selected in the album sync.

There is no Storage permission in WhatsApp either.

Could you please look into the settings of a Samsung phone and try again?

    Thank you

    Hi,

I had the same issue in my Galaxy A70. What I did to resolve the issue was select all the photos in my gallery and moving them into my Pictures album.

Then I synced with OneDrive as normal and everything was backed up.

This isn't a perfect solution, because it will continue to be up to me to do this manually every once in a while, but it is very easy.
