Multiple category Groups for Line Charts

Hi All,
hooray. I found the tutorial documentation for SSRS. In case anyone else is looking for it. Here it is.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/create-deploy-and-manage-mobile-and-paginated-reports?view=sql-server-2016

If anyone knows the best YT channel for SSRS tutorials and could let me know? I would appreciate that! The ones I have found so far leave a lot to be desired.

I have managed to convert nearly all 70 reports I am upgrading and I just have a few small problems left.

So...I have an old Dundas line chart with lines for Plan Revenue, Actual Revenue on the left hand vertical access and % Variance on the right hand vertical access.

It has two category groups on the horizontal access for Year and Month. In this way the year and month appear on the horizontal access and the lines can go over a number of years.

With the "new" chart I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the data series to go across the years.

I know it must be there and it must be easy.

So if anyone could point me to a blog post or video that shows me how this is done I would really appreciate that.

I must just be missing something in linking the series to the category groups.

It's just a line chart going over multiple years for revenue. It must be simple, right?

Just out of interest? How can there only be 571 users here? Didn't everyone come over from MSDN?

Is this now the "official" MSFT spot to talk about SQL Server / RS etc? Or is there some other place lots of people are talking about these things that I don't know about? I have not been very active around MSDN for a while. I used to be there a bit many years ago.

Best Regards

Peter

    Hi @Peter Nolan ,

The MSDN has migrated to Microsoft Q&A. You may now post issue here.

Not really sure what's your exact needs.

If possible, Could you please provide a screenshot of the chart and what you want?

With that we could make more accurate suggestion.

Remember to mosaic the private information.

    Regards,
    Zoe
