Virtual Network Gateway Connections

I use api "Virtual Network Gateway Connections - Get" and for the connection type "ExpressRoute" I get connectionStatus = null. Why connectionStatus = null? How do I get this status?

    Hi,

    Did you associate your network connection resource with your ExpressRoute Gateway and ExpressRoute Circuit?
    The status will only appear as "Connecting", "Connected", etc. once the configuration is completed.
