Running Get-ADReplicationUpToDatenessVectorTable show blank partners with old last sync.

Hi all,

I am not seeing any errors when looking at the sync. But I was just doing some checking and ran across the Get-ADReplicationUpToDatenessVectorTable command. It shows me all the current domain controllers but it also shows blank ones too. I am guessing these are DCs that have been demoted and replaced throughout the years.

Why are they showing and what are they? I see no errors in the sync history or repadmin. Is this something I should be worried about? No one has said anything about them. I'm just curious.

Thank you
Charles

As I said above. I think they are DCs that have been demoted and replaced.

I demoted them. Removed them from the domain and did a metadata cleanup, just to make sure they are completely gone from the domain. Waited for a couple of AD replications. Then installed 2016 and promoted them to a DC.

I did reuse the Server name and ip address to keep in line with our standardization.

The repadmin command shows no errors. Everything synced withing the past 15 minutes. Shows 0 failures, 0 Last failure time, and 0 Last failure status.
On the DCDiag command I did get a couple of errors.
"The event log System on server ADDC.domain.com could not be queried, error 0x6ba "The RPC server is unavailable."
I also got a replication error over night. But replication picked back up on the next sync and appears to be fine.
But these are not consistent. So I am guessing that is a hiccup in the network.

Sorry,I have been extremely busy with other issues.

    Hi,
If it is not a consistent problem, you may monitor the DCs for a period of time 。
For the Active Directory replication error 1722: The RPC server is unavailable, you can refer to the following link for troubleshooting.

There are no 1722 errors. All the repadmin command show success.

There seem to be no issues, it just seems like an oddity.
