How can I create an aggregated query in Power BI from an existing query

Richard Risinger 1 Reputation point

I have a query in Power BI Desktop which is built from an Excel worksheet. The worksheet is updated daily with open order lines (items, quantities, $$ values, customer details). Each row in the query refers to a single order line item. So, a given order will have multiple rows in the query. Details for a single customer may include multiple orders, each of which contain multiple items.

So, the data is item-level.

I want to create a summarized version of the query at the order-level, aggregating total units, total $ and count of items so that the resulting query includes one row per order.

I am very new to Power BI, but have a fair working knowledge of how I would perform this in Tableau, if that helps drive an answer to my dilemma.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
