Hyper-V server restore does not show network connection

Hello,

I need to "restore" a VM in Hyper-V. I created a new VM and pointed to the location where I had previously saved a back up of the VMDX files. I can start the server fine but the network adapter does not appear in the guest VM. What am I doing wrong?

I have created other server VMs using a server template that I created and they work fine. I know when creating the VMs with the server template this is done by running sysprep. Those VMs are fine. The problem is that I need to use a backup of server but can't get the network adapter to show in the guest OS,even though it does appear in the settings as I specifically selected this while creating the VM.

Can someone please help?

Thanks
