Try creating another kind of project: “Windows Forms App (.NET Framework)” instead of “Windows Forms App”.
Charts & Visual studio 2019 community edition
Hi,
Very novice user here! I have VS Studio 2019 community edition and am looking for some charts for a Windows Forms App.
I have available to seleect .net 5.0 & .net 3.1 and do not have charts available under data in the tool box.
A bit of googling suggest that charts is available as part of .net 4.5, but I haven't been able to get that available as a target framework.
Any and all tips and tricks welcomed!
Thanks.

See To install the .NET Framework Developer Pack or Targeting Pack
Then one of the samples from Google : Chart Control in Windows Forms Application

2021-08-20T19:11:25.74+00:00 I download Visual Studio 2019 community edition. "Chart" is greyed out in the toolbox. The project was created using a temperate that will generate a .NET Windows Forms (WinForms) App. Is this due to the limitation in using community edition? I remember a moth's ago, when I used the trial version of Visual Studio 2019 Professional, "Chart" was available in the toolbox. Thanks.
