azure devops rest api call to get release stages and associated commit messages

I am using the documentation found here and can not find any calls for access individual stages within a release. Ideally the end goal would be to display all all the commit messages associated with a stage; for all stages associated with a release; for all releases associated with a project. I have looked through the release management calls but do not see anything that targets deeper into the release. Does this call exist?
