The way to join a meeting on Group Transcribe

Hi,

I am interested in using Group Transcribe, an app released by Microsoft Garage recently, and I have a question regarding the way to join a meeting on the app.
(I couldn't find any tags related to this app, so I used azure-translator as a tag instead)

The FAQ below says there are three ways to join the meeting: Bluetooth, QR code and keys consisting of 5 alphabet letters.
Obviously people can't join the meeting by Bluetooth if they are not nearby.
But would it be possible for us to join meetings by QR code or keys if we are far apart, say when we all work from home and have an online meeting?
I've tried to use it in a remote meeting with my colleague, but there was an unspecified error. I thought it was due to the distance, but I could be wrong.

I would very appreciate it if someone could help me on this one!

(FAQ link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/translator/group-transcribe-faq/)

Thanks,

azure-translator

@Umi-6752 Thanks for the question. Yes, since this feature of Microsoft Translator is app only the tag for the same is not supported on this forum. According to your question from the FAQ link it seems to suggest that this is not the intended use for the App. The transcription and translation quality such as speaker attribution would be discounted because the app is designed for people to use in the same room.

I will check internally if I could help you on this or provide an appropriate forum link. Thanks!!

@romungi-MSFT

Thank you for your reply.
From the FAQ I understood that the transcription and translation quality would be discounted, but the FAQ also says it is possible to use it on online meetings...
I have also seen some people using the app remotely as well, so I was curious.

It would be a huge help for me if you could check internally or provide an appropriate forum link (I've posted the same question on Microsoft Community as well, but it seems like people don't know much).
Would it be possible for you to do that?

@Umi-6752 Based on feedback provided by our team, the support for this feature is in-app and feedback can be sent from the Settings menu.

Also, the recommendation from the team to customers is not to use the app in a remote setting as there’s a high probability for the session to fail with an error for various reasons. They are currently reviewing the FAQ questions and will update it as necessary based on this feedback.
