Hi,

We deleted contents from one of the SCCM distribution point server manually. However, the files and folders are copied back. Not sure if this is because of replication from other DP server or something else. Now, if this is the case, is there anyway, we can make this DP server as authoritative server so the contents in this DP server must be replicated to other DP servers. Or, how to avoid those deleted files from getting copied back ? Contentlibrary cleanup tool did not clean anything.

Thanks,

Umesh.S.K

    Hi, @Anonymous
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
How did you delete the contents? Did you just delete the SCCMContentLib folder?
If we want to delete the content from a DP, we need to delete from SCCM console, navigate to Administration\Distribution Points, select the DP and right click it to see properties, and choose Content, remove the package.

If we are using the distribution point group?
When we distribute content to a distribution point group, Configuration Manager distributes the content to all distribution points that are members of the group.

    Hi,
There is a separate folder in the same drive where SCCMContentLib exists. That folder was using more disk space. I thought DP service is replicating data of that folder. However, I came to know, that folder is used by some Ivanti application which is causing content to re-appear in that folder after deletion. For now, we have increased the disk size and will do other folder cleanup using Ivanti console. Thanks for the support.

    Thanks,
