Slow Internet Speed on Windows 10 1809

Question

Dear Community,

I am getting a very slow speed internet after updating to 1809.

I raised the issue Microsoft but have heard from them, it's been more than 45 days.

I am on 100 Mbps plan, I am getting the speed on my mobile phone but on my laptop, I am getting max download speed of 5 Mbps and upload around 30 Mbps.

I have tried updating the driver but it says I am on latest version.

Please, help.

Interesting response.  I have a better solution.  It's ridiculous to have to fiddle with settings as you describe. Microsoft has been irresponsible and making irresponsible update decisions for several years.  There has been insufficient oversight and testing.

I am in the process of transitioning to Apple OSX hardware which does not have this problem and is more secure in the bargain.

Doing fine till May 2019 update Windows 10 Build 18362.  400 Mbps connection, everyone else on my network fine but me! I'm getting 30Mbps speeds.

Realtek Gbe adapter.  Gigabit switch, gigabit router, gigabit cable modem (interface)

After doing "all the things" (driver update, unbinding all the unnecessary ms stuff,  resetting network, blah, blah) I found this and it worked for me.

In the advanced settings of the ethernet adapter disable:

all the offload functions (TCP checksums, UDP checksums, Large Send offloads) 

Receive Side Scaling

Flow Control

Green Ethernet

Energy-Efficient Ethernet

Interrupt Moderation

Jumbo Frames

ARP Offload

NS Offload

Power Saving Mode

Now getting full speed.  Hope this helps someone!

There is no solution. Windows was designed to be slow on purpose after they fired their good programmers years ago. Google just announced they are getting into the throttling fun as well and don't plan on letting up ever. Unless there is another OS provider that comes out soon to rival these greedy companies, your internet days are done.

 They made a statement years ago they were going to target individuals with high usage. So there is no hiding from their sandbox once they identify you on a device. My suggestion is, find something that is open source and not branded by Microsoft and Google. GOOD LUCK!

None of these helps .  I have spent days and weeks trying to fix these problem.  I'm giving up.  Switching to Mac solutions!

I have a similar problem.  It seems the latest Microsoft updates have caused a drastic slowing of internet speed.  In my case, I have 1 Gig service, and only getting 300 Mbps now.   Happening suddenly on two Windows-10 computers.  I have iPhone, iPad and other apple devices that do not have the same problem, and are getting the full download.  My Apple devices ARE NOW GETTING TWICE THE INTERNET SPEED EVEN ON WiFi than my Windows 10 computers are getting on Ethernet.

I had Comcast check my external and internal lines for speed, and had Dell and Microsoft work on the problem, but with no change.  

FURTHERMORE I'M FINISHED WITH MICROSOFT!

I don't have time to wait.  I am frustrated, and in the process of changing over to Mac solutions from Windows.  Too many missteps by Microsoft.  It will take me several years to switch, but I made my first step this week.  All my Apple devices are getting the full internet speed.
