This is ridiculous!  After I was forced to update to 1809 my computer is jerky, slow and sluggish.  What is with that??

    Hi,

I'm sorry you are experiencing trouble with Windows 10 1809. I think something went wrong during the Update.

I suggest you to perform a scan and repair of filesystem:

    1. Digit "cmd" in windows search bar
    2. Right click on "Command Prompt"
    3. Select "Run as Administrator"
    4. Digit "sfc /scannow" without quote and press ENTER

    Then :

    1. Digit "cmd" in windows search bar
    2. Right click on "Command Prompt"
    3. Select "Run as Administrator"
    4. Digit "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth" without quote and press ENTER
    5. Digit "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" without quote and press ENTER
    6. Digit "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" without quote and press ENTER

You can also perform a clean boot:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-za/help/929135...

Once done, perform also a Clean Up Disk:

    1. Open "File Explorer"
    2. Click on "This PC"
    3. Right click on "C:"
    4. Click on "Proprieties"
    5. Click on "Clean-up disk"
    6. Click on "Clean up system files"
    7. Select every option in the list, but not "Download"
    8. Click on "OK"

At this point the only thing that remains is to perform a defragmentation:

    1. Open "File Explorer"
    2. Click on "This PC"
    3. Right click on "C:"
    4. Click on "Proprieties"
    5. Click on "Tools"
    6. Click on "Optimize"
    7. Click on "C:"
    8. Click on "Optimize"

That should fix your device Os.

P.s: Please, if the answer resolve your issue, click on Yes. Thanks.

would this apply for ssd also?  I would not want to prematurely wear the ssd.  if scan and dism shows no errors, should I still proceed with optimize / defrag?
