How to stop Yourphone.exe process in Windows 10?

Question

I have noticed that … Yourphone.exe … is running all the time.

Can this app be stopped from starting and if so … How do you stop it? ...

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Privacy - Background Apps

From there you should be able to stop the Your Phone App and other Apps form running in the background of Windows 10

How to remove Your Phone app from Windows 10:

1. Open Start menu » type Windows PowerShell in the search box » Right-click on the first item that appears in the results (Windows PowerShell) » select Run as Administrator.
2. Issue the following command and press Enter.

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.YourPhone -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
   

You may have to find the | symbol in "Character Map", which is under Programs > Windows Accessories > System Tools > Character Map. It's in the 12th column across and fifth row down, if that helps!

Wow, this actually seems to work! It would seem that the app Your Phone is no longer installed after running this PowerShell command. Now, when I search Your Phone in the Start menu, it says it's available in the Store. Thanks for this! Just as a tip, the pipe symbol | is on most keyboards. I just copied and pasted the command, though, so I didn't need to type it in. Thanks again for the solution that actually works!

The app still seems to sometimes show up in Task Manager, though.

I think it's a Microsoft app that lets you sync your phone with your computer, or something like that. So yes, it's basically official Microsoft junk. This is the best kind of junk because at least it's trustworthy and not a virus.

The solution doesn't work for me, however, because the app still runs. I have to close it every time my computer starts.
