As usual Microsoft in its grand plan it has not provided to play an MOV file!!!!

    Sorry on my win 10 laptop from HP the default video player would not ply a mov file instead it gave me an error that said it did not support this file encryption. Sorry on this end tried and failed.  Thanks

    You should also note that movies & TV app will play .mov files by default as well. So you can try opening "Movies & TV" app and then throwing the file into there to play it as well. Sorry I did not relay this information before.

    You can go to settings > apps > scroll down to default apps by file type > scroll down to .mov > click the app that it is using as default and change to movies & TV then that should work.

    Also you need to have an apple account to use apple computers which is similar to outlook.

    I don't know what's going here with Apple accounts and what not, but here's the true info:

    Windows CAN play MOV files, provided the internal video track is a standard format. Really old MOV files might not play, but MOV files captured or exported from Macs or iPhones from the last decade or so should be fine. They can be opened in the Films & TV app or Windows Media Player.

    If these apps do not play your MOV file, then in my opinion, VLC, which has already been recommended, is your next best bet to play the file: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
