Hi Fahad,
Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.
I understand the inconvenience you are facing in projecting your PC on your smart TV.
Provide us additional information to assist you better with this issue:
- Which Update was installed recently on your device?
- What is the make and model of the computer?
Here are the few steps you can try to narrow down the issue.
Method 1
Check for Miracast support
- Press Windows key + R and type in “dxdiag”.
- Click “Save all information”.
- Open the saved dxdiag.txt and find Miracast. It should say “Available, with HDCP”.
Method 2
If your Windows PC supports Miracast, please refer the article Fix connections to wireless displays or docks to fix the issue.
I would like to inform you that the drivers which are installed by the manufacturer will not be lost. Only the drivers which are manually installed and through Windows updates will be lost. However, these drivers will again get installed with the installation of Windows updates.
Please refer the section “Reset your PC” from the article Recovery options in Windows 10 for more information regarding the reset operation.
Note: Please backup the data on an external storage device before performing the reset.
Hope it helps. Get back to us for further assistance on this issue. We will be happy to help you.

Hello Muralidhar,
Thanks for your time you took to answer my question, fortunately I did a system restore and screen mirroring worked fine after, the unfortunate part is I can't do the steps you provided to know what exactly was my problem.
