Accidently deleted my users folder in C Drive on Windows 10!

Question

I accidently deleted the Users folder in C Drive on Windows 10 and now the downloads, music, pictures folder in documents are not working.

What should I do?

If would be very unusual for Windows to allow you to delete your user folder, what method did you use?

Usually if you were able to delete that folder, it would be impossible for you to log into Windows . ..

1.

If you navigate to C:\Users in File Explorer, do you see your user profile folder in there, or is it totally gone?

2.

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Please provide a screenshot of the resulting Registry Editor window . ..

Hello,

Go to Recycle Bin and check if it contains the deleted folder. If yes, you can restore it to resolve the issue. 

Else, perform a System Restore or use another recovery method mentioned in this support article:

Hi,

Try doing a repair install. A repair Install keeps everything and reinstalls Windows.
