AVG antiVirus, previously installed, prevents the update.

AVG suggest to install back its program to enable the Windows Update.

Is any solution available, without installing back AVG Antivirus?

    Hi Joe
I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

Any reason why you do not want to update or temporary Uninstall?

3rd party AVs have history of interfering with the update process so uninstalling it would make the update more smooth.

    Hi Joe

Use the AVG Clear tool to totally remove all remnants of AVG from your PC:

    https://www.avg.com/en-ww/avg-remover

    Restart your PC

Then try updating your system again

If the update is still being blocked:

Click the link below to download a zip file

    https://aka.ms/AppRPS

    Unzip that file

Double click appraiser.bat to run that batch file

That batch will find the blocking file - delete the blocking file

Then try running the update again . . .

    Hi,

If the problem persists can you provide the following information which may help determine any issue(s):

Windows Key + R > type msinfo32 in the "Open" box > OK > File > Save > then save as an .nfo file

Then make the resulting .nfo file available via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site.

Also, can you do the following:

Windows Key + R > type eventvwr in the "Open" box > OK > expand "Custom Views" and then right-click "Administrative Events" > select "Save all events in Custom View As" and save as an .evtx file

Then make the resulting .evtx file available via a public folder on OneDrive or similar site.

Here's a link on using OneDrive:

    Hi Joe,

Go to AVG's web site and download the AVG Remover Tool. This will remove all traces of AVG from your system. Most third party antivirus Programs don't play nicely with Windows 10. There far I recommend that you use Windows Defender Security Suit Only!..

    I Hope This Helps You
