Office 356 Migration Completion of One Mailbox Taking Forever

Hi Everyone,

I manually triggered the completion of a migration batch (Exchange 2016 -> O365) consisting of one large mailbox (10GB) and its associated online archive (22GB) this morning at 8:30AM and as of 9:30PM it is still in the "Completing" status.

The Get-MoveRequestStatistics report I just ran gives the following status information:

Is it normal for a completion to take this long? Are there any auditing or logging options I can use to gain more insight into what's going on? It's not cool for an Executive to be locked out of his email for an entire day.

    How did you migrate?

    According to the status: InProgess, explain that the migration is in progress. There are many factors that affect the migration, such as the network, the size of your own mailbox, etc. Considering your large mailbox, the speed of the migration may be affected. You could run the following command to view the detail about migration. The "PercentComplete" parameter can indicate the percentage that has been completed. You can refer to this parameter to see if the migration is in progress.

    Get-MoveRequestStatistics -Identity <> -IncludeReport | fl  
    

    I noticed that a bad item appeared during your migration, you could run the following command to fix the items in the source mailbox, and try the migration request again. Or run the second command to set the bad item limit.

    New-MailboxRepairRequest  
    Set-MigrationBatch –BadItemLimit
