Downloaded Printer Driver is "unavailable"

After running the driver install for a (relatively old) Canon MF4350d printer/fax/scanner, the "Laser Multifunction Printer" listing in "printers & scanners" in my new LG Gram running Windows 10 says the "driver is unavailable" (see below). How do I get my new laptop to recognize the downloaded driver? The driver download came straight from Canon and is definitely the one that Canon provides for Windows 10. Thanks, jr

Okay

The next thing to try them in this situation believe it or not is to completely uninstall the computer, reboot the PC and then reinstall the printer using the Windows settings for adding a device or printer.

okay and if you go to the drivers tab and choose update driver and then navigate to the latest driver that you just obtained from Canon does it resolve the issue? Does it tell you that the best driver is already installed? Does something else happen?

have you tried to go into the device manager, select the printer, right click it and choose update driver. Then choose the option for have disc and navigate to the location where the driver installed when you installed it from Cannon
