RS232 (COM/Serial) Driver for Windows 10

Question

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a COM Port Driver that will work on Windows 10?

I have physical ports on a computer and the virtual drivers that Windows has now do not work like my computer did when it was on Windows 7.

Please reply with the following details to assist you further with the issue:

• When you say, “the virtual drivers that Windows has now do not work” what happens when you connect a device to the Port?
• Are you able to locate the COM Port drivers in Device Manager?
• What is the make and model of the computer?

You can try to manually add the legacy hardware for COM port and see if that helps. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and click on Device Manager.
2. Click on Action, select Add legacy hardware and click on Next.
3. Click on Install the hardware that I manually select and click on Next.
4. Scroll down, select Ports (COM & LTP) and click on Next.
5. Select the appropriate drivers and click on Next.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
