The app you're trying to install isn't a microsoft verified app

I am operating with

Windows 10 Home version 1903

Trying to install TurboTax 2019, I get the following error

"The app you're trying to install isn't a microsoft verified app"

I try to change my app recommendation settings and there is NO option to change installation method under apps & features.  I have searched the web and tried the recommendations, to no avail.  Is there a fix for this (other than upgrading from Home to Pro for 99.00?

    Hi DJ327

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to System - About

On that page, is your edition of Windows reported as Home, or Home S?

While in the Settings App, go to Home - Apps, at the top of that page, is there a 'Choose Where to get Apps' drop-down, and if so, is that set to 'Everywhere'?

    Hi,

Is the device a part of a domain?

Are you the administrator of the computer?

Windows Specifications says edition is Windows 10 Home

Under settings App, I do not have that drop down.  I have under apps & features

    Optional features

    App Execution aliases

then a search this list bar

    and the list of apps.

    Hi DJ327

Is this a private PC your are using or associated with an organisation, because in version 1903 you should have that drop down, which if not set correctly will cause this error . . .

If that is a private PC, click the link below, then click 'Update Now' on that page to immediately get 1909 and bring your PC right up to date and hopefully install that drop-down on the Apps and Settings page . . .
