Windows 10 update November 2019 1909 - Printer issue still not resolved

My printers stopped working after the last Windows 10 update in October 2019. Unfortunately I was not able to remove the specific KB update which created the issue because it was not listed anymore after the version update...

I just installed the last 1909 release hoping that the printer issue would have been fixed but still nothing works.

I have fixed printer spooler but not even Microsoft Print to PDF works...

Any suggestion?

Based on your post on printing, I think that the Microsoft Virtual Agent can help you troubleshoot your issue. It'll walk you through the right troubleshooting steps based on the specific problem you're facing.

Please let us know if this solved your issue.

New laptop, upgrade to 1909, instant error on print.  I did the in place upgrade, all of the above "fixes", and still doesn't work.  I can print to pdf but no printers, either network or local.  Used HP's tools, and every other "solution" I can find - zero luck.

I appreciate this is a bug, but for my work it's far beyond annoying and into a significant time suck and functionally slowing down productivity.  Microsoft - you need to take action on this.

It seems that I am in the same boat as everyone else after the update. HP 7640 with the same series of error messages. All of the same applicable TS on the HP side with them, along with all steps provided by MS. All other non-Win 10 devices I have are experiencing zero issues with printing to the same printer, over the same network. It's even more annoying that I have a dual-boot with Win7 Pro (solely used for automobile tuning), and can print just fine if I boot into that environment. It feels a little strange that, at this point, this seems to be a known issue seeing as there are KB articles addressing it, yet no direct acknowledgement of the issue really, aside from a few forum mentions such as this. Hopefully this is addressed sooner rather than later.

I just updated to Windows 10, and can no longer print to my HP Envy 4520 series.  Before sending a test print the printer status indicates "idle," but as soon as I send a print, the status changes to "error."  When running the "troubleshooter" a message comes up and says that a document is blocking additional printing.  However, no print jobs are in queue.

How do I correct this problem?

I have the same problem after updating to 1909.  I tried a repair install of Win 10 from the media creation tool, tried rolling back, tried removing the enhancement update, repaired the spooler many different ways and I still can't print.  The spooler isn't turning off as much as before, but I'm getting "driver unavailable" and it was all fine before 1909
