Every time Windows 10 Updates, it deletes all saved desktop icons, clears my taskbar, deletes all my saved favorites, passwords, and more!

Every time my PC updates my desktop  wallpaper goes back to default, and all saved icons, favorites, passwords, etc are gone. Every. Single. Time. This is getting tiring and I'm losing so much time at work saving my icons again, paswords, etc. What is going on? Also keeps changing my default printer even when the box is left un-checked, when the computer updates and restarts the box will be checked. Its almost as if the computer is set back to default after every update. Please help. I've tried quite a few things to fix and no luck.

My problem has been fixed. Although it was nothing i did. Windows did an update that restored my computer to another date and this issue has been resolved. I manually trued to restore to another date and this never worked for me. But after the most recent update my favorites, my history, and my desktop icons do not get deleted when i restart my computer. Problem solved with the recent update.

Yes, it says signed in with a temporary account for me. What do I do?

I assume you're running Win10 1903 or 1909, and just installed the February 2020 cumulative update.

By any chance, are any of the afflicted machines running Avira or AVG?

It's been implicated in the bug.

Best solution so far is to uninstall the buggy cumulative update, KB4532693. Details to follow.

How can you uninstall when you are unable to access administrator account due to password loss?

    Same here,

Microsoft did it before and Microsoft does it again. With the update version 2004, 19041.450, september 2020; Microsoft resets many painstakingly customized personal settings in navigation pane, desktop and directories and registry settings.

This makes me steaming mad. Stop doing that! Now I am forced spending time customizing my PC yet again which will take probably hours because part of the desired settings are moved or hidden, unclear how to manage or even worse: not possible.

I don't want every update MS rolls out thank you very much. Stop forcing and pushing!

Yes I am running Avira, and this has now happened to me several times and it is heart breaking the hours it takes to get computer back to where you want it.  Should I be doing something with Avira? and not sure how I can unstall the update KB4532693 when it does not appear on my list of software updates
