I am operating with

Windows 10 Home version 1909 the latest version of windows

Trying to install the latest version of Java, and I get the following error

"The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft verified app"

I try to change my app recommendation settings and there is NO option to change the installation method under apps & features.  I have searched and searched the web and tried the recommendations from other posts, but still nothing. I hope there is a fix for this. Please help.

    Hi CB8_477

    Open the Settings App

    Go to System - About

Is your Windows 10 Home in S Mode?

If not, in the Settings App, go to Home - Apps

At the top of that settings page, do you not have the option shown below in version 1909?

I figured out the issue. I have multiple users on my PC and the user I was on doesn't have admin access. Thanks for the help.

    Hello,

Can you post screenshot of Settings > Apps > Apps & features.

There should be an option Choose where to get apps as shown here:

    https://www.kapilarya.com/how-to-block-allow-apps-from-anywhere-in-windows-10

You need to set that option to Anywhere, but warn me before installing an app that’s not from the Microsoft Store.

    Regards.

Just as an addendum - Not sure, whether it fits. It could be the Internet zone flag, that caused the issue. I've described a similar case within the following blog post.
