USB settings in Power Plan Options on Windows 10 is missing, how to restore it?

As per the below suggested steps I am trying to disable the USB in USB selective suspend setting in my Dell laptop with Windows 10 Home.  however, I do not find the USB Settings at all in two modes Balanced mode or Dell (Active) mode under change advanced power settings. How to restore it?

USB Selective Suspend Settings, follow the steps below:

  1. Press Windows + X.
  2. Choose Power Options.
  3. Select Choose when to turn off the display.
  4. Open  Change advanced power settings.
  5. Expand USB settings and USB selective suspend setting.
  6. Select Enabled (default) or Disabled.
  7. Click Apply, then OK.

    I understand that you are unable to find USB Selective Suspend Settings on your PC. Let’s try a couple of troubleshooting steps and see if we can fix the issue.

    Method 1:


    Try running the command to enable USB Selective Suspend Settings.

    1. Now press Windows + S key together to open Search.
    2. Now type CMD and select Run as administrator.
    3. Accept the UAC prompts.
    4. Type in the following command and hit Enter:

    powercfg -attributes 2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3 48e6b7a6-50f5-4782-a5d4-53bb8f07e226 -ATTRIB_HIDE 5. Restart the PC.


    Method 2:


    Try changing the registry settings and see if that helps.

    **Note:**Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run’.
    2. In Run dialog box, type ‘regedit’ and hit Enter.
    3. On the left hand pane navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3\48e6b7a6-50f5-4782-a5d4-53bb8f07e226
    4. Now on the right hand pane right click on empty space and click on New and select DWORD (32-bit) Value
    5. Rename the DWORD file as Attributes
    6. Double-click on the file and change the Value Data to 2
    7. Restart the PC
    8. Click on OK
    9. Restart the PC.

    Worked for me Prkhar, thank you. Would you know how to enable processor power management as well on regedit? On my surface pro 7 they removed the profile and when I updated to version 2004 I could not re-enable the profile. "CSenabled" is not in the registry anymore. I'm stumped.

    I have the same problem with 2004 on my gaming PC which is always plugged in. Once again the assumption that one size fits all has screwed up my Windows 10 config.

    Can this be used to dissable the power over usb feature?. Two of the tree usbs on my new hp envy gives power to what ever is plugged to the usb for example my mouse. I want the computer to shut down completly when I power it off. Any idea?
