Hi, I bought a laptop from China and it comes with Chinese language display. I tried to factory reset, but it would not let me choose English. I went to install additional language, but it would only let me choose to type in English, and can't change the default Windows display language. How do I go about changing the system display language to English?

XiaoLian(Luck) 0 Reputation points2025-12-20T00:28:45.0733333+00:00 I suggest you reinstall the system, as changing the language pack from the settings is no longer effective and cannot be used to adapt to all software. SO reinstalling the system is the best choice.

2021-03-25T02:47:14.617+00:00 just click 安装, then wait for installation complete, you will see a dialog ask for sign out for applying new language.

2021-03-24T06:46:32.573+00:00 Firstly, you need to add English in 语言界面, after add English(United Kingdom), you will see 安装语言功能 dialog, check the option: 设置为我的Windows显示语言。Click 安装。
After installation complete, you could click 是，立即注销 to sign out for changing display language.
When you re-login, you will get the English display interface.
On the other hand, If you have installed English, you could select installed English in box which is under Windows显示语言, then sign out and sign in, your display language will also change.
