Ok I'll try that tomorrow - thanks!
Patches will not install - PSCONFIGui.exe failing
Hi,
I have been looking at an issue on a farm that I have not worked on before related to patching failing...
If I run the SharePoint config wizard it errors multiple times...saying missing items - 60 of them.
If I download a security update and do a manual install then I get this error: "An error occurred during detection"
Not one patch will install - they all fail when installed manually even when freshly download so not corrupt or anything basic.
Logs do not shout a solution...
Any ideas/tips please?

Please ensure that SharePoint Server 2013 Service Pack 1 and SharePoint Server 2013 Language Pack Service Pack are deployed in the environment
Then, run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard as an admin to ensure that the update is complete.
Finally, please install the March 2021 Cumulative Update (KB4493237)
Thanks,

2021-03-25T09:39:30.59+00:00 Hi,
Just tried installing SP1 - the error raised after only a few seconds was: "An error occurred while running detection"
This was run from web server from desktop using run as admin - my account is local admin...
I get same result on all server in farm...
Same error if i run from c:\
Any tips/ideas - I have looked in the sharepoint logs and event viewer - nothing is jumping out...
Are there amy nifty diagnostic tools i can download and run?
One log file i looked in yesterday had more than 250,000 lines in - what would be the best tool in your opinion to really get down into the details of why this is failing?
Monitor sharepoint log with ulsviewer while running install perhaps or can you suggest a better idea to investigate please?
