I had gotten a new pci adapter today but after installing the new drivers I have gotten the no internet access problem.

Solutions I've tried

1.Network Adapter Troubleshooter

2.Reset the router

3.Reset Windows Sockets API using

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew ipconfig /flushdns

4.Changed from Obtain DNS server address automatically to Googles DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8

6.Tried a network reset

7.Uninstalled most recent driver and tried the version that came in the box

8.Disabled antivirus softwares

For some reason i am getting this globe icon

rather than the icon with a yellow exclamation point I've seen other people get with the same problem

I am using the ASUS PCE-AC88 PCIe Adapter

Hi LeviLamb and thanks for reaching out. My name is Joseph. I'm an independent advisor. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I would suggest you refer to the below options and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    Option 1. Initial Troubleshooting (Recommended)

    1. Disconnect to your Wifi SSID.
    2. Turn off and unplug your ISP modem or router for one minute.
    3. Plug back in and turn on your ISP modem or router.
    4. Connect back again to your Wifi SSID.
    5. Check to see whether or not the problem has been resolved.

Option 2. Run commands to reset the internet network.

    1. Open CMD as an administrator.
    2. Type in the following commands.

    ipconfig /release <press Enter>

    ipconfig /renew <press Enter>

    ipconfig /flushdns <press Enter>

    ipconfig /registerdns <press Enter>

    nbtstat -rr <press Enter>

netsh int ip reset all <press Enter>

    netsh winsock reset <press Enter>

Option 3. Fix Ethernet Not Working in Windows 10.

Option 4. Restore from a system restore point.

This option takes your PC back to an earlier point in time, called a system restore point. Restore points are generated when you install a new app or driver, and when you create a restore point manually. Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let me know how it goes.

    Thank you!

So let me ask you this, was the computer connected to the internet prior to installing this item?
