Hello,

from time to time, I received the email from <no-reply@microsoft.com> (It is from the Microsoft account team) telling my that someone had a Unusual Sign-in activity. Here is the E-mail content:

We detected something unusual about a recent sign-in to the Microsoft account (here is my Microsoft email)
Sign-in details
Country/region: Russia/Moscow
IP address: 103.225.77.255
Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2023 03:22:11 +0000
Platform: Windows 10
Browser: Firefox
A user from Russia/Moscow just logged into your account from a new device, If this wasn't you, please report the user. If this was you, we'll trust similar activity in the future.

The Problem is when I saw the "report The User" Button when I put my mouse pointer at it, it shows a JavaScript, sending an email to the following email: *******@selectaliases.com When I sign in on my Microsoft account and try to see the last activity, there IS NO SIGN-IN activity from Moscow. I reported this email to Microsoft as Phishing, but I keep receiving this. I really do not know if it is legit or not. And of course, it is keeping falling into my Junk Email, not in my Inbox.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Those emails are definitely scams and not from Microsoft. One way of confirming scam emails it to select "Reply" (but do NOT actually "Reply". In majority of cases, you will notice the address you are replying to is not legit.

Even though Microsoft, in most cases filters these scam emails (I get dozens per day) and sends them to your Junk folder, I think it's obnoxious and disappointing that Microsoft does NOTHING (that I'm aware of) to detect and stop these scam emails from ever reaching out Inbox or Junk folder.

I would think Microsoft has the ability and proper staff who could develop scam detection software. It appears to me that Microsoft cares nothing about putting in the time and effort and money to protect their customers from scammers. I constantly report these emails to Microsoft as "Phishing" but I continue to get hundreds per week.

Come on Microsoft. Start protecting your customers (especially senior citizens) from falling prey to these low life scum of the Earth and stop providing these scammers with a means for stealing millions of dollars from your customers.

I received the same email but it is in my focused email, not junk. I am receiving 20-30 emails daily that I report as phishing, but I do not see any relief. I thought MS365 had advanced detection of junk/phishing email.
