Functional mailbox

We do have a groupmailbox. Which my team of almost 40 people have an access to. At a time almost 12-15 people are in the shift and all of us have full access. We logon to our outlook and this mailbox is also added there. So we can check mails coming into this . However now for past weeks the mailbox is very slow. None of us can search anything or the folders are not updating etc. As per out IT the reason being there are too many people who has an access to the mailbox. For example there are 15 people in a shft and all of us access the group mailbox at the same time . But how can that be an issue ? isnt the purpose of group mailbox that number of people can access the mailbox together ? Also the size is only 60% used.

What's type of your groupmailbox(Microsoft 365 group or others)? Please kindly understand under Outlook tag, we mainly focus on general issue on Outlook desktop client, considering your issue may be more related to mailbox instead of Outlook client, in order to resolve it better, it's suggested to add other related tag under your post.

I have tagged mailbox as well here. I am not sure by the question type of group mailbox. It is a functional mailbox. (Sorry I am not so efficient with outlook :) )

Thanks for your update, but I noticed you still only tagged Outlook under your post.

Also, due to we couldn't confirm what's the specific type of your fuctional mailbox, I have tired to researched a lot about it and found a related article about shared mailbox: About shared mailboxes, which mentioned: Too many users: When there are too many designated users concurrently accessing a shared mailbox, they may intermittently fail to connect to this mailbox. In this case, you can consider reducing the number of the users or using a different workload, such a Microsoft 365 group or Public folder. Please kindly check if it's your case.

Maybe you should try clearing the data and cache on the app, thatay speed it up a bit.

We cleaned the mailbox size and data a. It is only 60% used. And the mailbox is slow for all the users accesing the mailbox. As per our IT this can be because of the number of people having full access to the mailbox. So we have three owners and almost 25 users who has full access to the mailbox. But i did not see online anywhere that there is a limit for how many people can have full accesss to a group/shared mailbox. ?!
