Hi! I've been having this problem for a week now. I can't connect to our own WiFi. Two weeks ago it started as having trouble in connecting but now I really can't connect anymore. This is what shows when I enter the password. I already tried some of the steps here in fixing the WiFi problem.![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/998a65a4-2936-4ec0-8316-482adca865ea?platform=QnA

    Hi Gab,

Thank you for providing the info. I see your system had two updates close to that time. I would first try Franco's suggestion about checking the WiFi security protocol. If you don't know how to get into your Router to check, I've have included an alternative option below.

    1. Open the start menu --> type: cmd --> right click the option that says "command prompt" --> select "run as administrator".
    2. In the command prompt window type: "netsh wlan export profile folder=c:\ key=clear".
    3. Open your file explorer and select (C:) drive as per photo below --> select the file that has your WiFi name --> right click on the file --> select "open with" --> select "notepad"

    1. Inside the file, find the security section as indicated in the photo below. This may be "WEP", "WPA", or "WPA2". (Don't share the file with us), just let us know the authentication protocol.

    1. If the protocol isn't "WPA2", then you should further your efforts to get into logging your router to change the setting to see if that works.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Dave

Hi Dave. I tried both a and b but I'm still unable to connect to our network.

Below is the screen shot of the updates from powershell.

    Thank you very much.

    Best,

    Gab

    Hi Gab,

Lets try a few more things to see if we can get it going.

    a) Open notepad, by clicking on the start menu --> Type notepad --> click notepad in the list. Inside notepad type your WiFi password and ensure it looks correct. This will help to see if you have a keyboard issue like a stuck key.

There has also been reported issue of WiFi problems after recent updates. I would also try the following to see if it helps resolve your issue.

    b) Do a network reset, i.e. go to settings, network and internet, scroll to bottom and select network reset. (Photo instructions below)

    c) If the above option doesn't work, I'd like to see what recent updates were installed on your system. To find out, open the start menu --> Type: powershell --> click: powershell from the menu --> in the blue window type: get-hotfix --> then press enter. You should get a readout of recent updates. Please take a screen shot of photo of the results and attach it to your next post.

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Dave

Hi Dave! I tried downloading the latest driver but I still can't get access to our own network. I even tried resetting the modem but nothing new happened.

Thank you very much for you help. Please let me know if there are other possible ways that I can do in order to fix this issue. Thanks again and keep safe.

    Best,

    Gab

    Hi Gab,

Thanks for following up with all the requested info. I'm still leaning towards a driver issue. The Lenovo Ideapad has a few sub models, and I would try installing the driver for your specific model from the Lenovo website.

I've included a link for the Lenovo site below. You'll need to enter your serial number from the bottom of the laptop to get the correct drivers. Once on your specific device, find --> Drivers & Software --> Networking Wireless LAN, then download and install the latest driver.

    Hope all goes well.

    Kind regards,

    Dave
