Powershell cmdlet to know the free available next driveletter in a cluster

Hello,

I am looking for a method to identify the next freely available drive letter in a cluster.
In some cases, in a cluster environment, i have seen the drive letter assigned to the shared disk got changed during failover.
Hence it would help if there is any powershell cmdlet to reliably identify the free drive letter from all the nodes of the cluster.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for posting!

The automatically assigned drive letter is picked by Windows from the volume/drive letter mapping which is maintained in the Mount Manager database. I find the following blog that can be a solution to meet your demand:

Thank you for your support!
