Azure Security Center and Application Insights

Is Application Insights tied to what's reported and used in Azure Security Center? Documentation is unclear given that it uses Azure Monitor. Trying to figure out how tied together those two services are.

    Not sure I fully understand what you mean by "tied to what's reported and used in Azure Security Center" but feel free to elaborate and I'm happy to followup.

    The short answer is no. ASC is a service that provides unified security management and threat protection across your hybrid and multi-cloud workloads. Security Center uses the Log Analytics agent to collect and store data. For more details on ASC, check out the frequently asked questions content..

    App Insghts on the other hand is an extensible app performance feature of Azure Monitor. Mainly used to monitor live applications. This FAQ may be useful to shed more light on AI use-cases.
